Clinical Nurse Specialists: Clinical Nurse Specialists are expert nurses who specialise in specific types of cancer and cancer treatments. They are there to help you navigate your cancer treatment and advocate for your individual needs, providing you and your loved ones with the support, advice and care that’s right for you. You will usually meet your named CNS when you are given your diagnosis or during your first consultation. Learn more
Therapists: We have a team of specialist therapists who provide a range of services, this team includes physiotherapists, speech & language therapists, complementary therapists, lymphoedema therapists and music & art therapists. This team are all highly experienced in supporting people with cancer.
Psychologists: Our team of psychologists provide counselling and psychological therapies for people with cancer and their loved ones.
Dietitians: Some cancer treatments can affect your appetite and what you are able to eat, they can also cause unpleasant side-effects. Dieticians can provide individual advice on food and drinks to optimise strength, manage treatment side-effects and optimise your wellbeing.

Complementary therapies can help to improve your physical and emotional health, relieve anxiety and provide relief from the side-effects of your treatment. Our therapists offer aromatherapy, massage, indian head massage, reflexology, reiki and acupuncture. You are welcome to try sample sessions to see what works best for you.
Physiotherapy can play an important role in your recovery, helping you regain strength, mobility, and independence. Our expert physiotherapists can provide tailored exercises to address your specific needs, such as weakness, fatigue and neuropathy.
If you’re experiencing lymphoedema, which is often diagnosed in the arms and legs, our experts can help to reduce and control swelling and discomfort using a range of specialist techniques. Gentle massages can help with lymphatic drainage and bandaging and compression garments can further enhance these results. Home self-massage instructions and skincare education can also be provided.
Some cancer treatments can affect your speech and cause issues with eating, drinking and swallowing. Our speech and language therapists offer personalised assessment, strategies and exercises to help you regain and improve these vital skills, to help you to communicate and eat more comfortably.
Engaging in music and art therapy can help you to express yourself creatively and provide emotional relief. These therapies offer a unique way to cope with stress, process emotions, and enhance your mental well-being, during your active treatment or as part of your follow up care. They will work with you to provide personalised dietary advice to meet your specific needs, helping you maintain strength, manage side effects, and support your body through treatment and afterwards.

We have a number of regular support groups and events which are run by members of our expert multi-disciplinary team. Our patient groups and events provide a safe and supportive community where you can share experiences, learn about different treatments, how to manage side effects, ask questions or simply spend time with people in a similar situation.
Exercise can have a significant impact on your physical and emotional wellbeing, but staying physically active can be difficult during and after cancer treatment. Our physiotherapists can assess you and advise on a suitable class which offers safe and effective routines to help you maintain strength and vitality.
