What happens when you call our urgent care?
One of our specialist paediatric nurses will complete an initial assessment and advise you with the next steps to ensure your child receives the best possible care. If your child needs treatment, our team will book you in for our next available appointment. Standard opening hours are Monday-Sunday 8am -8pm*
Prices
Appointments for children cost £170. Any additional charges, such as the cost of imaging or any tests, will be discussed with you in advance.
Please note: A cancellation fee may occur if you do not cancel your appointment within one hour of booking your appointment.
* Last scheduled appointment is at 7pm.
What we treat
Below is a list of common conditions we treat:
- Acute sore throat
- Wound care
- Minor injuries
- Rashes
- Ear pain
- Foreign body in ear or nose
- Suture removal
- Urinary tract infection
- Fever for babies over three months old
We do not treat
- Diarrhoea
- Vomiting
- Accidental ingestion
- Fever under three months old
- Difficulty breathing
- Testicular pathology
- Unwell diabetic
- Periods of unresponsiveness
Onward referral
After your initial assessment our expert paediatric team can provide an onward referral, if needed, to a specialist private paediatric consultant and further testing, as indicated by the clinician.
Nurse-led wound clinic
A nurse-led wound clinic has been established at the Urgent Care Centre for children at The Portland Hospital.
It’s available for paediatric patients who require dressing changes, wound reviews (including burns) and suture removal. Although nurse-led, an urgent care doctor will be available to review any wounds if necessary.

Travelling to us
By Tube
Great Portland Street station is on the Hammersmith & City Line, Circle line and Metropolitan line. It is located approximately 2 minutes away from us.
Regent’s Park station is on the Bakerloo line. It is located about 5-6 minutes away from us.
By Car
Please be aware that we do not provide parking for patients or visitors. Local parking facilities are limited and we advise visitors to use the nearby Union Carparks in Devonshire Row Mews.
