About
Professor Rudenko is a renowned specialist and lead consultant for the first UK UCARE and ACARE Centre (Urticaria and Angioedema Centre of Excellence and Reference). He has been instrumental in adapting clinical care to the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, introducing video appointments and remote tests. Allergic conditions, requiring special attention and high expertise, are among his primary focus areas. Patients from all over the world with allergic rhinitis (hay fever), food allergies, drug allergies, urticaria, and angioedema can benefit from remote access to top-level allergy care. His work in clinical immunology includes assessing immunological causes of frequent infections, recurrent cold sores and shingles, and other conditions affecting the immune system. Working within the frameworks of ACERE and UCARE, Professor Rudenko employs scientifically backed guidelines from the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and the World Allergy Organisation. Professor Rudenko has published extensively on topics such as chronic spontaneous urticaria during pregnancy, treatment patterns in chronic urticaria, and the role of mobile health technologies in allergy care. His research includes landmark studies on the importance of including all epitopes in grass pollen extracts for specific immunotherapy and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the management of chronic urticaria.
