Mr. Feiran Wu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on degenerative conditions and sports-related disorders of the hand, wrist, and elbow. As an expert in upper limb surgery, he provides a comprehensive and tailored service, incorporating advanced techniques such as arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery and wide-awake procedures.
After graduating in medicine from Cambridge University, Mr. Wu pursued his orthopaedic training at several prestigious specialist centres across the UK and West Midlands. In 2018, he was awarded the highly regarded British Orthopaedic Association overseas fellowship, which allowed him to further develop his expertise in wrist arthroscopy and hand injury surgery at leading centres in Asia.
Since 2019, Mr. Wu has served as a consultant in orthopaedics and trauma at University Hospitals Birmingham, where he treats both elective and traumatic conditions affecting the upper extremities.
His specialist treatments include keyhole carpal tunnel release, advanced wide-awake techniques for Dupuytren’s contracture surgery, tendon repair, and arthritis management. He also offers wrist arthroscopy, solutions for sports injuries, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem-cell therapy, and treatment for tennis and golfer’s elbow.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Wu is deeply involved in research, having authored numerous articles on the management of degenerative and sports-related injuries of the upper limb. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and serves as an editor for *The Journal of Hand Surgery*, the leading European publication for hand specialists.
