Dr. Eli Silber is a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist with an illustrious career spanning over two decades. He has been affiliated with prestigious institutions such as Kings' College Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he currently serves as the clinical lead. Dr. Silber specialises in general neurology and provides expert consultations for various neurological conditions, including headaches, dizziness, vertigo, tremors, seizures, and fainting.
One of his primary areas of interest and expertise lies in the management of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other inflammatory conditions. He established the Regional MS Service at Kings College Hospital and a satellite service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with MS. Dr. Silber's dedication to advancing MS care is evident through his involvement in clinical research and his role as a lead investigator in several trials for novel therapeutic agents, including monoclonal antibodies and oral therapies.
In addition to his work with MS patients, Dr. Silber provides acute neurology care, collaborating closely with colleagues in acute general medicine and intensive care units to assess complex and critically ill patients. He also offers rehabilitation and palliative care for patients with neurological disabilities, demonstrating his commitment to improving the quality of life for those with advanced neurological conditions.
Dr. Silber's extensive contributions to the field of neurology have earned him recognition, including being named one of Britain's Top 250 Consultants in the 2013 Tatler Doctors Guide. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London and actively engages in teaching medical students and supervising doctoral students.
Dr. Silber obtained his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and completed his neurology training in Johannesburg, South Africa. He pursued further research, earning an MD thesis that explored the causes of disability in multiple sclerosis. Since his move to the UK in 1997, he has made significant contributions to the field of neurology, and his commitment to patient care and research continues to shape the landscape of neurological medicine.
