Dr Kanaganayagam is a Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Cardiology for Imperial and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trusts and also offers private consultations. He sees patients with complaints of chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness and leg swelling. He also treats patients with known coronary disease, valve disease, arrhythmias and heart failure as well as common conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol.
He is the Lead for Cardiology Imaging at Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, and has expertise in CT coronary angiography (with calcium score), stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echos and cardiac MRIs. Importantly, he uses these to thoroughly investigate and treat his patients appropriately, and performs these for other heart specialists to help manage their patients. He has been the Lead for a Community Heart Failure service at Imperial and continues to manage patients with both reduced and preserved systolic function (HFPEF and HFREF).
He continues to participate in original cardiovascular research, and has written review articles and lectured on cardiac CT, echocardiography and cardiac MRI.
