Dr. Catherine Spencer-Smith qualified in 1995 from St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, and trained in Sports Medicine at Bath University. She has worked with an extensive range of different sportspeople, ranging from Paralympians and Olympians and to the occasional exerciser.
Dr. Spencer-Smith was a Sports Physician at the 2012 Olympic Games, the 2002 Commonwealth Games, and has worked with GB rowing, track and field sports, marathon, endurance, and outdoor adventure sportsmen and women.
Dr. Spencer-Smith is a keen educator and developed an MSc Programme at Bangor University, she’s a keen lecturer, and has presented in several TV productions. She works full time in the private sector and has a happy and successful practice, Sportdoc London Limited, based in London.
Dr. Spencer-Smith is a marathon runner and triathlete and is passionate about helping others to get their practices into great shape; knowing from her own experience the frustration of injury and the importance of getting back to training in the fastest and most healthy way possible. She has a particular interest in hip and groin conditions (such as FAI), and undiagnosed problems.
