Mr Jeremy Oates is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with sub-speciality interests including Robotic Pelvic surgery, complex Urological cancer management and retroperitoneal procedures working as part of the renowned Christie Urology team.
Upon completion of his training, Mr Oates was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon and lead Urological Cancer clinician at mid-Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust, while also performing major pelvic procedures at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, moving to the Christie in 2017.
Mr Oates underwent undergraduate and Basic Surgical Training in the Mersey Deanery, moving to Manchester for further Urological training, successfully submitting an MD thesis exploring the identification and behaviour of potential stem cells in kidney cancer. Following his research, he underwent higher surgical training in the North West and was awarded his CCT in 2013.
Mr Oates is an active member of the Greater Manchester Cancer Urology Pathway board and is involved in several national projects to improve Urological cancer diagnosis and care. He also dedicates time to the education of undergraduates, junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
