Mr Marc George is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in disorders and surgery of the hip, including primary and revision total hip replacements and hip arthroscopy for conditions such as femoroacetabular impingement and sporting hip injuries. He also performs orthopaedic trauma surgery for hip fractures and periprosthetic fractures around the hip.
Mr George graduated from the Royal London Hospital in 1994, undertaking postgraduate surgical training posts and embarking on higher surgical training in orthopaedic surgery on the South East Thames programme in 2001. He has been on the specialist register as an Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2007, undertaking a hip fellowship at Guy's Hospital and visiting other specialist hip centres in the UK and the United States. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals in 2009. He has been the Orthopaedic Clinical Lead at Guy's & St Thomas' since 2017.
Mr George has published numerous articles and book chapters on hip surgery, regularly teaches on postgraduate courses and trains future hip surgeons working at Guy's and St Thomas' including hip fellowships in young adult hip surgery and hip replacements.
He currently practices at HCA UK at the Shard and the London Bridge Hospital (part of HCA Healthcare UK).
