About

Mr Ben Eddy is one of the UK’s most experienced Robotic Prostate surgeons (Surgery for prostate Cancer) with experience of over 1400 Robotic Radical Prostatectomy, he completed an International Robotic fellowship in Australia in 2008 and subsequently set up Kent’s first Robotic surgery program. He is a national Trainer in robotic surgery having trained many UK consultants and has established his own fellowship program. He has presented and published extensively on his own outcomes in robotic surgery.

In addition, Mr Eddy has a very large experience in prostate diagnostics, PSA testing, MRI imaging, and targeted prostate biopsies. He works closely with his Oncology colleagues and specialist nursing colleagues through a multi-disciplinary team approach. Mr Eddy also provides consultations for other Urological conditions.

Mr Eddy qualified from Guy and St Thomas Medical school, London, in 1996. He trained as a junior doctor and subsequently as a Specialist Registrar in and around leading hospitals in the London region. 

In 2008 he embarked on an International Robotic surgical Fellowship in Australia and trained extensively in Robotic Surgery for Prostate cancer and Laparoscopic Surgery for Renal Cancer. He has developed a specialist interest in Uro-Oncology focussing on minimally invasive techniques

He has taken on cancer lead roles for the East Kent Hospitals and Prostate Cancer Lead for Kent and Medway Cancer Network.

In addition, he has extensive training in benign Urological Procedures.

He has presented extensively and won many awards including in 2017 being awarded the John Anderson Award from the British Association of Urological Surgeons for his work. Mr Eddy also is heavily involved in Urological Charity work particularly the Urology Foundation having raised over £400,000 for the charity.
