His educational journey began at the University of Birmingham Medical School, and he furthered his expertise through training at renowned surgical units across the UK, including the University Hospital Birmingham and Norfolk and Norwich.
Over the course of the past 14 years, Dr. Peravali has honed advanced skills in colorectal surgery. Recognizing his exceptional performance, he was chosen to undertake the "John Goligher Fellowship in advanced Coloproctology" in Leeds. With a track record of over 5000 surgeries, 90% of which are laparoscopic (keyhole) procedures, he prioritizes enhancing his patients' recovery. Dr. Peravali's dedication to the field earned him the "Master of Surgery" degree from the University of Edinburgh. His dissertation, titled "Enhanced recovery after Colorectal surgery," reflects his commitment to advancing the field. His research findings have been presented both nationally and internationally.
Beyond his general colorectal surgery focus, Dr. Rajeev Peravali holds a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and currently serves as the lead IBD Surgeon at SWB. Additionally, he holds prestigious positions, serving as a surgical tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons and acting as a Consultant Sponsor of the FINCH service.
