Dr Costi Alifrangis is a consultant medical oncologist specialising in the treatment of urological cancers including prostate, bladder, penile and testicular cancer. He obtained his medical degree at Guy's, King's and St Thomas’ medical school, where he was awarded the university gold medal for medicine. He undertook postgraduate medical training in London and Brighton and trained in oncology on the Imperial College London medical oncology rotation. As an academic clinical fellow at Hammersmith Hospital he worked on hormone resistance in prostate cancer and subsequently secured a Wellcome Initial Request Form Trust fellowship to undertake and complete a PhD at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and University of Cambridge on Cancer Genomics and therapeutics. 

He has published original research in journals such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology and was awarded the Sylvia Lawler Prize by the oncology section of the Royal Society of Medicine. 

Dr Alifrangis is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at University College London Hospital , and has published over 100 articles, abstracts and book chapters relating to urological cancers. His research has focused on the intersection of genomics and therapeutics in the area of drug resistance, including personalised approaches to cancer treatment. 

Dr Alifrangis has received funding from the Biomedical Research Council and is Principal Investigator in a number of late phase clinical trials of investigational and novel therapies in these cancers, including novel chemo-immunotherapy trials in prostate, bladder and penile cancer. 

Dr Alifrangis has extensive experience in managing patients with urological cancers in including Prostate, Bladder , testis and penile cancer. He has an ongoing interest in the treatment of patients with rare and complex genitourinary cancers and has built a national and international referral practice in this field in the NHS and privately. He has been a member of the UK NCRI groups for testicular and penile cancer and recently been on the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) Clinical guidelines committee and has co-authored the European guidelines on penile and urethral cancer. Dr Alifrangis is a member of the supraregional tumour group multidisciplinary meetings at UCLH in the NHS and privately attends the Prostate Centre and King Edward VII Urological cancer multidisciplinary meetings. He is a tumour group lead and attends the Urology and chemotherapy board meetings at LOC/HCA. His main focus is on providing excellent and compassionate care to his patients.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading and running.
