At The Princess Grace Hospital, we have the clinical expertise and infrastructure to diagnose and treat the full breadth of GI conditions, no matter how complex. Our robust governance structure and consultant-led multidisciplinary approach ensure that patients receive the most appropriate treatment and management plan for their condition.
Our consultants adopt a multidisciplinary approach when considering the best treatment pathway for an individual, drawing upon the knowledge of clinical nurse specialists, clinical dietitians, pharmacists, radiologists, consultant oncologists and haematologists, surgeons, pathologists and microbiologists in multidisciplinary teams (MDTs). The MDT reviews each patient’s case before recommending the most suitable course of treatment, so your patient benefits from the combined experience of a whole team of clinicians with expertise in specialty and sub-specialty areas.

Jon's story: An intestinal failure success story
“I’m six foot two and my average weight at the time was around nine and a half, or 10 stone. If you look back at old family photos, I'm skin and bone, you know?”
Jon, 58, is recalling his referral for surgery a little over 10 years ago. Having lived with Crohn's disease of the small intestine for most of his life, he was showing signs of intestinal failure (IF) and was becoming dangerously malnourished.
His consultant referred him to Mr Alastair Windsor and Mr Farooq Rahman, both leading consultants in HCA UK’s Complex GI Centre.

The London Digestive Centre is open until 8pm. Appointments will need to be booked in advance and we will advise what time slots are available when booking. Alternatively you can book directly into a consultants diary using our consultant finder.
As part of HCA UK we offer an Urgent Care service at The Princess Grace Hospital. Alternatively the closest Emergency department is University College Hospital.
