    Frequently asked questions

HCA Healthcare UK continues to maintain the very highest standards of infection prevention and control measures, as advised by a team of specialists including nursing and medical staff. We believe our patients have a key role to play in infection prevention. That is why we ask that you do not visit our facilities if you have symptoms of an infection that might spread to other people, such as COVID-19 or a winter vomiting bug (norovirus). Latest information
For outpatients, we encourage you to attend alone if possible. This is to help reduce the risk of transmission. We do understand however that some patients may wish to bring someone with them, and so we allow up to one visitor per patient. Again, all visitors are encouraged to take a lateral flow test before attending the hospital or clinic.
We are committed to guaranteeing that patients with disability, their families and carers are not discriminated against in any way and that they have access to the full range of our services, facilities and information. If you have a disability and are coming to the Diagnostic Centre for an appointment please let us know before you attend so that we can discuss what support you may need. Please let us know if you have any special requirements such as: A disability requiring assisted access, Hearing or sight difficulties, Need of an interpreter
We do have a pharmacy on the ground floor of the Diagnostic Centre, located on Devonshire Street and on the ground floor of 81 Harley Street. Should you need any medication, your doctor will provide you with a private prescription that you can pick up before you leave and our pharmacists can also offer any pharmaceutical advice you might need.
You do not need a referral to book in a consultation. If you wish for your health insurance to cover the cost of your care you will need a referral from your GP but you can also pay for services as and when you need them. Contact our self-pay team for more information on paying for your treatment.
