CaRi-heart technology
Revolutionary new technology to assess the risk of a serious heart condition or heart attack – many years before anything happens.
The Wellington Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK (HCA UK), is proud to become home to the first Versius robotic surgical system in the UK private sector. The Versius adds to the hospitals already CQC Outstanding surgical care and will be used to support consultants to provide minimally invasive colorectal, thoracic, gynaecological, and general surgeries.
The robot was used in its first surgery at The Wellington by Consultant Colorectal Surgeon’s Mr Najib Daulatzai and Mr Vanash Patel in a cancer surgery. It is another example of HCA UK’s commitment to investing in the latest medical technology and innovation for the delivery of exceptional patient care across its network of care.
The Versius develops The Wellington Hospital’s already comprehensive robotic capabilities, joining its other robotic surgical systems; da Vinci XI, MAKO and Excelsius GPS. It will be used for procedures including hysteroscopy, hernia repair, thymectomy and colectomy.
Versius is designed to give surgeons and hospitals the versatility to operate in the way that’s best for patients with the ability to easily move the system to different theatres to maximise utilisation. The modularity of Versius gives surgeons ease and flexibility to put the ports where surgeons want, therefore making the system ideal to perform a versatile range of cases and integrate into existing workflows.
Biomimicking the human arm, Versius gives surgeons the choice of optimised port placement alongside the dexterity and accuracy of small fully wristed instruments.
