Muriel Holder brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as a Consultant in Clinical Genetics at Guy's Hospital. With a career spanning over two decades, she has made significant contributions to the field of genetics through her clinical practice, research, and education.

Muriel's journey in clinical genetics began with her studies at Cochin Port Royal Medical School in Paris, France. After completing her medical degree, she pursued further training and specialisation in paediatrics and genetics at Lille 2 University in France. She obtained a Master's degree in human genetics from Lille 2 University, followed by a Master's degree in molecular biology from Paris 5 University. She further expanded her knowledge with a Master's degree in biochemistry from Paris 5 University and a Master's degree in inherited metabolic diseases from Nancy University, France. Throughout her career, Muriel has held various positions, including a specialty registrar and lecturer in clinical genetics at Lille University Hospital in France. She also holds a PhD.

In June 2012, Muriel transitioned to Guy's Hospital, where she has since served as a Consultant in Clinical Genetics. In this capacity, she continues to offer expert guidance and care to patients while contributing to advancements in the field through her research endeavours.
