Mr. Paul Smith is a highly experienced Hand Surgeon with extensive training in Glasgow, London, Louisville, and Duke University, North Carolina. Initially trained as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, he switched to Plastic Surgery with the advent of microsurgery. He has spent significant time in the United States as a Microsurgical Fellow and Hand Fellow. Mr. Smith has been involved in developing the Hand Surgery Service and the Congenital Hand Surgery Centre, making significant contributions to these fields. He has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 17 chapters in textbooks, and authored two textbooks of Hand Surgery. Mr. Smith continues to be active in presenting papers at international meetings and has received numerous awards, including the Pulvertaft Prize and the 1st prize in the Residents competition by the American Association for Hand Surgery. His areas of expertise include reconstruction surgery, hand surgery, upper limb surgery, congenital hand surgery, cosmetic surgery, paediatric plastic surgery, paediatric care, skin tumours, and oncology.
