Dr. Hosam Serag serves as a Consultant Urological Surgeon, boasting a wealth of experience and expertise. He completed his medical school training and earned an MSc in Urology from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. Following this, Dr. Serag underwent foundational training in Cambridge, Bristol, and Newport before embarking on the UK Urology National Training Program.
Throughout his training journey, Dr. Serag acquired esteemed qualifications including MRCS, FRCS (Urol), and FEBU, ultimately culminating in the successful culmination of his Urology training in 2018. In 2019, he pursued further specialization with a Uro-Oncology Fellowship at the University of British Columbia and Vancouver General Hospital in Canada. During this fellowship, he garnered extensive experience in intricate open cancer resections and robotic surgery.
Dr. Serag has a primary focus on Urological Cancers, particularly advanced renal and retroperitoneal cancer. He harbors a particular interest in laparoscopic and robotic renal surgery and has made significant contributions to the field through publications, guidelines, and a book chapter on kidney cancer.
Dr. Serag is deeply committed to education, regularly instructing on national courses for Urology trainees. He has amassed broad experience in open and laparoscopic renal surgery, tackling challenging cases referred from various centers in the West Midlands. He provides consultations and treatments for an array of urological conditions, including bladder cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, and benign scrotal lumps, among others. His proficiency in procedures such as laparoscopic nephrectomy, TURBT, TURP, and hydrocele repair ensures patients receive comprehensive and specialized care under his guidance.
