Dr Katie Lacy is a highly experienced Consultant Dermatologist at the St. John's Institute of Dermatology at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London, where she is the clinical lead for the melanoma unit. She specialises in melanoma and moles and is an expert in the use of mole mapping and dermoscopy to identify suspicious skin lesions requiring removal. Dr Lacy runs a specialist clinic for patients with multiple moles and dysplastic naevus syndrome, alongside a joint skin cancer genetics clinic for patients who have had multiple melanomas. Dr Lacy is also experienced in treating general dermatological conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, benign and cancerous skin lesions, and other skin rashes.
Dr Lacy has an outstanding educational background with a 1st class Honours degree from Pembroke College, Oxford University, and a PhD in Immunology from University College London, where she investigated the effects of ageing on the skin. She is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London and has a research group investigating immune responses in melanoma. Dr Lacy has published her work in peer-reviewed journals and given presentations at national and international meetings.
