Prof. Akash Deep is a well-trained paediatrician with expertise in all aspects of paediatric conditions, particularly acute paediatric conditions and paediatric sepsis. He authored the internationally acclaimed guidelines on sepsis in children (Surviving Sepsis Campaign) and is the main author of the National Paediatric Sepsis Toolkits. Prof. Deep is actively involved in sepsis awareness campaigns and has been featured in various high-profile media articles and TV programs. He is the medical advisor to the UK Sepsis Executive Committee and represented paediatric intensive care in the Core Panel Group for standardising care pathways for acutely unwell children in Emergency Departments.Prof. Deep is the chair of Scientific Affairs for the European Society of Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC) and leads groups on kidney and liver failure. He trained at prestigious institutes in Mumbai and Chandigarh and sub-specialised in Paediatric Intensive Care at Great Ormond Street, St Mary's, and Royal Brompton, London. Prof. Deep is actively involved in clinical research and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals.
