Our career pathway offers a number of employed substantive positions to Consultants and Lead Doctors, ranging from; RMO Lead Doctors, Specialist Lead Doctors, Associate Directors and Medical Chief Officers, who lead, educate, promote and support all our medical professionals in providing an outstanding patient service that sets us apart as world leaders in Private Healthcare.

Physician associates

Whilst not a doctor, the physician associate is its own healthcare professional who performs to a medical model, with the skills, knowledge and attitudes base to deliver medical treatment and holistic care within general medicine under defined levels of supervision by a doctor.

Executive Medical Masters Degree

The Executive Master’s in Medical Leadership (EMML) is a specialised degree that offers advanced leadership training to doctors. Sponsored by HCA Healthcare UK, any employed Doctor at HCA will be considered to be sponsored and fully funded into this programme, whilst receiving a competitive salary whilst practicing in their specialist field at HCA.

The programme develops leaders who can transform healthcare systems in ways that ultimately help people live longer, healthier lives. Grounded in research that shows that medical leadership improves healthcare system performance, this degree is distinct in targeting doctors.

This varies between Primary and Secondary care. However, flexible working, part time and full time hours are considered. We also offer paid study time to support specialist interests as well as further training.

Some of our unique fellowships are recognised for training and are led by world-class Consultants recognised in their field.

The equivalent to NHS training grade ST3 or above, we have opportunities which spread across a vast range of specialist areas such as Medical Oncology, Critical Care, Cardiology, Haematology, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Neurology, Oncology Clinical Trials, Obstetrics and Gynaecology to name a few.

Whether you choose to take a gap year from your training, take up one of our sponsored Fellowships or need variable shifts to combine your research projects with clinical practice, or looking for long term career progression, HCA UK can cater for all your needs and interests by offering full time, part time, bank or annualised hours contracts with continuous CPD and mentorship.

Technology

Over the last 10 years, we’ve invested over £500m in advanced facilities and equipment. Many of the therapies we offer aren’t available elsewhere in the UK. Latest technology includes, Versius Surgical System, da Vinci® Single Port surgical system and Mako® robotic-arm assisted surgery. We now have a da Vinci robot at each of our main hospitals.

Many of our doctors are based at our six renowned London hospitals and four specialist care clinics in London as well as The Christie Private Care in Manchester and The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham.
