About our paediatric services

HCA UK offers the full breadth of children’s services across each of our paediatric sites, delivered by leading consultant paediatricians and an expert team of healthcare professionals.

The world-class, complex medical care and surgery we provide is supported by our paediatric intensive care unit, where our clinical specialists have access to the most highly advanced medical technology. We diagnose and treat children and babies for a range of conditions, all the time ensuring families who visit us are made to feel as comfortable and reassured as possible, and that our young patients have access to many entertainment options.

Our children's unit is open at all times for elective and urgent admissions. We also run a fast-track referral service, enabling your child to have a same-day or next-day appointment with a general paediatrician. Please read on below to find out more.

Our visitor policy for paediatrics

We ask that only one parent or guardian is allowed to attend the appointment or admission.

Multidisciplinary teams

Our multidisciplinary teams (MDT) include clinical nurses and support staff across all HCA UK paediatric sites. We offer expertise in all specialisms and sub-specialties, with access to leading dietitians, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, play specialists, allergy treatments and more.

Working with charities

We're incredibly proud of our relationship with Chain of Hope, a charity bringing medical experts together to deliver life-saving heart treatments to children in developing and war-torn countries. We also work closely with Funding Neuro, a UK-based charity striving to ensure the most promising research in neurosciences makes it out of the laboratory and to the patient.

Wooden Spoon, a sports charity HCA UK are heavily involved with, are changing children's lives through the power of rugby. Each year they fund around 70 projects, from community programmes and specialist playgrounds, to medical treatment centres and sensory rooms.

Urgent Care Centre for Children

Our Urgent Care Centre is for non-life threatening medical needs and minor conditions. Here, children aged 0-17 can receive the urgent care they need 365 days a year, with no appointment required.

We provide your child with rapid access to our rota of leading paediatricians, urgent care doctors and specialist nurses. GPs and nurses with expertise in emergency paediatric care run the centre and are able to diagnose and treat any acute or underlying serious condition your child might have.
