Indego® exoskeleton
The Indego® can be used as a training or mobility device if you've experienced neurological or spinal cord injuries
About
One of the latest technological advancements in rehabilitation, the exoskeleton is a powered lower limb orthosis, which enables people with mobility impairments to practice walking over ground with a new level of independence.
Need to know
Your physiotherapist will carry out a thorough assessment to see if the Indego® exoskeleton is an appropriate device for you to use as part of your rehabilitation, or to trial as a mobility device. This can be part of your inpatient program or as an outpatient.
Your physiotherapist will discuss with you any special preparations you need to make when using the Indego® exoskeleton. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing with no zips or thick seams and sports shoes.
If your trial on the Indego® exoskeleton is successful, your physio will discuss how best to proceed to maximise your progress.
