If you're visiting a HCA UK hospital for a consultation, treatment, scan or test lasting less than four hours, you'll be doing so as an outpatient.
Your visit to HCA UK
Whenever you visit one of our facilities, no matter how long you stay with us, we want you to feel relaxed and ready. Knowing what to expect when you visit, and if there's anything you need to do to prepare, should help you be even more confident about your stay.

Outpatients Information
Daycase patient information
If you're visiting us for a treatment that can be undertaken within 6 hours, and won't be staying overnight, you'll be doing so as a daycase patient. We've set out some important information on how to prepare for your visit.
Inpatient information
If you're having a procedure or admitted for medical investigations to a HCA UK hospital and are staying with us for one night or more, you'll be admitted as an inpatient.
Chaparones
You can choose to have your partner, relative or friend with you during your consultations. You also have the right to ask for a chaperone to be provided by the hospital and this can be helpful when you want extra support during an examination but would prefer not to have your partner, relative or friend in the room. If you would like a chaperone to be present during a physical examination/consultation, or if you would prefer to be examined by a health professional of the same gender as yourself, please let your consultant know and we will do our best to comply with your wishes.
Feedback, complaints and comments
Your opinion makes a difference
Our aim is to deliver a high quality of service to all our patients and your feedback will help us monitor how well we are doing and help us to achieve an even higher standard of care.
Following your experience with us we may ask you to complete a survey – this will either be by one of our team on the ward or you will receive a text or email with instructions to complete when you’re home. It is completely anonymous and should only take a few minutes to complete.
We thank you in advance for sharing your time and thoughts with us.
