About physiotherapy for children

Whether your child has a chronic illness, disability or is recovering from surgery, our dedicated paediatric physiotherapists can help to reduce discomfort and support their recovery. We have the facilities and expertise to look after your child from head to toe.

We specialise in the treatment and management of conditions affecting joints and soft tissues, including sports injuries, talipes equinovarus (club foot), hypermobility, scoliosis and postural problems. Physiotherapy can also improve respiratory function and help to manage neurological conditions including neuropathiesbrain injuries and developmental delay.

Your consultant will recommend the best treatment, depending on your child's age and condition. Physiotherapy can include working with joints, muscles, sensation and balance to improve your child's strength, range of movement and coordination. We also offer hydrotherapy.

Our paediatric physiotherapy teams

We have teams of physiotherapists at The Portland Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic who have specialist expertise to look after your child whether they are in hospital for treatment, or need to be seen for regular therapy at an outpatient clinic.

Additionally at The Wellington Hospital, we are partnered with Central Health Physiotherapy who offer and outpatient paediatric service in St John's Wood.
