Prostate cancer
Treatment options at The Prostate Centre
Your treatment
When it comes to choosing a treatment option, no single treatment has been proved beyond doubt to have superior, long-term outcomes than any other.
This is a dilemma for you as a patient and us as your team. It means that, together, we’ll explore all possibilities, weighing up the pros and cons. Then, with the help of your urologist and oncologist, decide on the treatment and the specialist you feel most comfortable with.
Not every treatment is suitable at every stage of the disease. For example, surgery to remove the prostate isn’t appropriate if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body.
Whichever route you decide to follow, we’ll help you find the specialist with the experience to match.
Our expertise
At The Prostate Centre, you’re in safe hands. Between us, we’ve carried out more than 3,000 prostatectomies – more than any other UK private practice.
That’s because we focus on what we do best. It also means we don’t offer every treatment available, but we do know who best to refer you to should you wish to explore other options – whether that’s in London, elsewhere in the UK, or internationally.
Our surgeons specialise in robotic prostatectomy (prostate removal), using laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery with the latest robot technology. Meanwhile, our oncologists can offer conformal radiotherapy, low-dose and high-dose brachytherapy and hormone therapy, or chemotherapy.
