Based at the Royal London Hospital, Mr Saurabh Phadnis is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Co-Lead Colposcopist who firmly believes in a holistic, individualised and patient-centred approach to care. Mr Phadnis conducts his private practice at London Gynaecology clinics including The Portland Hospital and City of London.
Mr Phadnis undertook his training in general gynaecology at number of centres in the East of England. He then went on to complete gynaecological oncology subspecialty training at the highly esteemed Barts Gynaecological Cancer Centre in London. His specialist areas of surgical expertise include complex minimally invasive and open abdominal procedures. He is particularly passionate about counselling and management of familial gynaecological cancer, fertility preservation in gynaecological cancer and cytoreduction surgery for advanced stage ovarian cancer. As well as being an experienced hysteroscopic surgeon, Mr Phadnis is a highly skilled colposcopist with over 10 years of experience and an accredited trainer with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).
At the London Clinic, Mr Phadnis co-chairs the Gynaecological Oncology Multidisciplinary Team meeting, where the focuse of discussion is in diagnosing and managing patients with suspected cancer. He is also a core Cancer Advisory Board member for a renowned pharmaceutical company.
Mr Phadnis has received a number of awards and honours thanks to his medical excellence and contribution to research in the field of gynaecology. A particular researc area of interest includes the association of pregnancy-related complications following precancer of cervix treatment. He been honoured with multiple prizes at both national and international conferences and was awarded the RCOG-Bernhard Baron Travelling Fellowship to the centre of excellence in Germany, which would allow him to broaden his knowledge in ovarian cancer surgery.
Outside of work, Mr Phadnis is an avid cricket player and supporter and is even a qualified umpire for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
