Dr. Andrew Raffles is a consultant paediatrician with extensive experience in general medicine and emergency medicine. He trained at the Children's Hospital in Hackney Road, Hammersmith Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital, focusing on cardiology and respiratory medicine. In 1984, he became a Clinical Lecturer in Paediatrics, receiving awards for his teaching and research in preschool childhood asthma, newborn nutrition, and non-invasive monitoring methods. Dr. Raffles was appointed as a consultant paediatrician in 1989, where he oversaw the training of paediatricians across the North Thames Deanery and introduced significant changes in training, supervision, and assessment. He has served as clinical director of children's services and director of diabetes services for children and young people. Dr. Raffles has also published papers on neonatal nutrition and childhood asthma and authored a textbook of paediatrics. His clinical expertise includes childhood vaccinations, newborn care, growth and developmental assessments, general paediatrics, routine health checks, childhood ailments and infections, immunizations, child development, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), adolescent health, and managing chronic long-term illnesses in adolescence, including hypermobility and fatigue.
