Mr Neill Patani is a Consultant Oncoplastic & Reconstructive Breast Surgeon at University College London Hospital, Honorary Associate Professor at the UCL Cancer Institute and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Francis Crick Institute. Neill also runs private clinics at HCA Healthcare UK's, The Princess Grace Hospital in London.
He has expertise in the management of breast cancer and all aspects of benign disease, including breast pain, lumps, infection and risk-reduction strategies for patients with a family history.
Neill has an interest in laboratory, translational and clinical breast cancer research. He works collaboratively with scientists, oncologists and radiologists, exploring how breast cancer metabolism can be targeted for functional imaging and novel therapies. He is currently involved in clinical trials studying the optimal sequencing of breast cancer treatments and the de-escalation of surgery to the breast and axilla according to treatment response.
He also has an interest in quality improvement initiatives and is an Honorary Clinical Fellow for the national Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme, with a role in evaluating and learning from litigation in breast surgery.
