As a Consultant in Paediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Dr Brough runs the UK's largest children's allergy service based at Evelina London Children's Hospital, where she also jointly leads the specialist difficult asthma and allergy service. In addition, she heads up allergy transition services for teenagers up to 18 years of age with the goal of equipping them with the knowledge and recommendations on how to take control of their allergies. She features on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council, with dual accreditation for both General Paediatrics and Paediatric Allergy. Her areas of expertise include food allergy prevention, diagnosis and treatment, asthma, eczema, immunotherapy and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.
Dr Brough graduated with double honors in Medicine and Experimental Psychology from King’s College, Cambridge University. Following this, she undertook clinical training at the Royal Free & University College London Medical School. Dr Brough has trained in many distinguished teaching hospitals in the UK, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Dr Brough is an active researcher and has widely published in the field of Paediatric allergy in the form of research articles, textbooks and written reviews on the management and prevention of food allergies, dietary management of peanut allergy and the risks of environmental exposure to food for Paediatric patients. She often presents her research at national and international meetings, and is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London. In 2010, Coeliac UK awarded her as the runner up for 'Health Professional of the Year', and was presented with the Barry Kay Award from the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology in 2013, recognising her contributions to, and excellence in, Paediatric Allergy research.
