In 2014, Dr. Roberta Brum was appointed as a consultant physician in HIV and genitourinary medicine at London's world-renowned Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In 2018, Roberta was named Service Director at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for the St Stephen's Centre (a sexual health clinic and HIV clinic—the largest HIV clinic in Europe).
Dr. Brum obtained her MRCP in 2009 and subsequently spent 5 years specialising in HIV/genitourinary medicine at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and King's College Hospital.She acquired certificates in HIV care, genitourinary medicine, family planning, coil and implant insertion, and the DRCOG (Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists). She is also a member of the International Menopause Society and the British Menopause Society.
Her clinical specialisation encompasses sexual and reproductive health, as well as sexually transmitted illnesses in both men and women. She has substantial experience in HIV infection, AIDS, and antiretroviral medication management.She is presently the department's lead for the joint HIV and menopause clinic, the HIV prenatal clinic, and the female chronic conditions clinic. She has vast experience managing syphilis and runs a syphilis virtual clinic in her department.
Dr. Brum's main clinical interests include the management of genital herpes, HIV, and syphilis; vaginal infections and chronic or recurring urogenital problems in both men and women; the administration of PrEP; and the treatment of HPV infection and genital warts.
She believes in taking a holistic approach to healthcare, which includes listening to patients' concerns and incorporating them into their treatment plans.
