About physiotherapy for sports and exercise

Following a sport or exercise-related injury, a course of sports physiotherapy can help you rebuild strength, regain flexibility and improve your range of movement.

Physio can also help to prevent similar injuries in the future and can be used as a way of improving performance. You don't need to be a professional athlete to benefit from sports physio. It can be helpful for many types of musculoskeletal conditions.

Our industry-leading physiotherapists work with people who have varying levels of fitness. Your physiotherapist will carry out a detailed assessment of your condition and create a physio programme tailored to your needs.

If you have any longer term training goals, they can take these into account and help you to achieve them. Your treatment may involve hands-on manipulation, massage and exercise.

You might also use our advanced range of gym equipment as part of your rehabilitation.

Our sports physiotherapy teams

Across the HCA UK network, we have teams of physiotherapists who specialise in treating athletes both amateur and professional.

We have musculoskeletal therapists, who specialise in different areas of the body, as well as respiratory, neurological and pain management physios who work with both inpatients at the main hospitals, and on an outpatient basis, either as a follow up to inpatient treatment or as an outpatient when an injury requires regular therapy sessions.

Sports physiotherapy treatment at HCA UK is available as a self pay option or may be covered by most major insurance companies.
