Gastrointestinal endoscopy

ERCP

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. A combined endoscopic and X-ray technique used to diagnose and treat a range of pancreatic and bile duct problems.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

Internal ultrasound of the abdomen. Endoscopic ultrasounds combine the technology of ultrasound scans and endoscopes to generate detailed images of the oesophagus, bowels, heart, stomach, lungs, pancreas, and the surrounding tissue and blood vessels.

Enteroscopy

An enteroscopy is a procedure to examine the small intestine with an endoscope, to help diagnose digestive problems

Bravo pH study

A relatively new method for detecting the reflux of acid from your stomach into your food pipe (oesophagus)

Video Capsule Endoscopy

A PILL-SIZED VIDEO CAPSULE TO SHOW THE INSIDE OF YOUR BODY


Capsule endoscopy is a procedure where you swallow a pill-sized video capsule which slowly passes through your body

Flexible sigmoidoscopy

A procedure to look inside your rectum and lower colon with a small camera. This is an endoscopic investigation that's used to help diagnose colorectal and bowel conditions.

FibroScan®

 A similar environment to having an ultrasound. This scan is called a transient elastrography for the measurement of liver fibrosis. At HCA UK our hepatologists can provide Fibroscan® technology in London, Birmingham and Manchester
