Dr. Shaila Sukthankar is a consultant paediatrician with a focus on outpatient elective consultations, assessment of acutely unwell children, and inpatient acute/emergency management of sick children. She treats patients from one month to 16 years of age. Dr. Sukthankar qualified as a paediatrician from premier teaching institutions in Mumbai, India, and undertook further specialist postgraduate training in paediatrics and paediatric nephrology in the UK. Outside clinical practice, she has a keen interest in postgraduate education and research, leading several studies on nephrotic syndrome, RSV bronchiolitis, and iron deficiency anaemia. She is the Associate Director for Medical Education at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and has held positions as Regional Adviser for Paediatrics and MRCPCH Examiner.
