Sanjiv Jari is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon as well as an Honorary Professor at the University of Bolton. He specializes in knee problems and knee surgery, with a particular focus on advanced non-surgical arthritis treatment, including stem cell injections. His expertise extends to sports injuries, personalized less invasive knee replacements, and keyhole surgery.Sanjiv's interests include keyhole surgery of the knee and ankle, ligament reconstructive knee surgery, cartilage transplantation for sports injuries and early arthritis, and knee-cap surgery. In addition to sports surgery, he has extensive experience in arthritis surgery, specializing in minimally invasive total and half knee replacements, as well as contemporary non-surgical arthritis treatments.Sanjiv trained in London and Manchester and further honed his skills in the USA at a prestigious sports medicine center. He served as a Sports Medicine Consultant for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and provided medical cover for the 2001 World Police and Fire Games in Indianapolis. He was also a Medical Consultant to the USA Amateur Boxing Association and currently serves as the Orthopaedic Surgeon to the Great British Olympic Wrestling squad. He works with many elite professional and international teams and athletes in various sports, including rugby, football, netball, and basketball.His role involves lower limb and trauma surgery, and he has set up a dedicated knee rehabilitation and triage service in conjunction with specialist therapists. This service includes biomechanical ligament assessment using a KT-1000, a tool not generally available in the UK. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in orthopaedic and trauma surgery at the University of Manchester and is a national and international speaker on knee surgery and sports injuries. He supervises post-graduate doctors, medical students, sports rehab students, and international medical students and Fellows.Sanjiv has published a BSc Thesis, 19 peer-reviewed articles, 17 abstracts following the presentation of papers at various meetings worldwide, and several invited articles, including book chapters.
