Professor Ros Eeles is a Professor of Oncogenetics at The Institute of Cancer Research, University of London UK. She trained at The University of Cambridge and St Thomas' in London. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Radiologists (Clinical Oncology Faculty). Accredited in Clinical Oncology, Professor Eeles has extensive sub-specialist experience in Cancer Genetics. Her oncological expertise includes radiotherapy and chemotherapy for Uro-Oncology. She provides cancer risk assessment, screening advice, and management of increased cancer risk in adults for any cancer site. Professor Eeles has edited a specialist textbook on Cancer Prevention and Screening, which won the BMA Chairman's award in 2019, and has authored over 500 original research papers. She is internationally recognized in Cancer Genetic Clinical Management and research, particularly in managing individuals with mutations in the breast/ovarian/prostate cancer predisposition genes BRCA1, BRCA2, and others. She has been on several genetics advisory committees and edited the special edition of Familial Cancer: Cancer Genetics: New Ways of Working. Her outside interests are opera and art. Her areas of expertise include clinical genetics with respect to cancer in adults, cancer genetics, prostate genetics, and medical genetics.
