About

Mr Arvind Mittal is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician currently and his NHS base is West Hertfordshire Hospitals (mainly Watford and St Albans). His areas of interest include advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, office hysteroscopy, pelvic pain, painful sex, endometriosis (including laser treatment), menstrual disorders, , fibroids, contraception, PMS, menopause, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), women's cancer screening, vulval disorders including lichen Sclerosus. He also offers vaginal surgery for prolapse. For fibroids he offers open myomectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy and hysterscopic resection of fibroids depending on suitablity on individual basis. He also offers laparoscopy for treating ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cysts and cervical insufficiency (cervical cerclage). He is also very experienced in conventional open gynaecological surgery.

Mr Mittal qualified in medicine with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from India in 1987. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and has a Diploma in Radiology (DMRD), Master of Surgery (MS in Obs/Gynae) and PGC (Advance Gynae Endoscopy) qualifications. He has over 30 years' experience in obstetrics and gynaecology including extensive training in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and is also trained in major London university hospitals including Guys and St. Thomas and Kings College Hospitals.

He is also a member of the British and European Societies of Gynae, Endoscopy (BSGE/ESGE) and American Association of Gynae Laproscopists (AAGL).

In addition, Mr Mittal has been faculty on laparoscopic training courses and workshops in UK and overseas.
