About

Mr Alex von Roon is a highly experienced laparoscopic colorectal surgeon with over 15 years of experience in treating patients with colorectal and general surgical conditions. He specialises in inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, and advanced minimally invasive techniques, and frequently performs complex re-operative surgery for inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure, and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is also involved in the implementation of the robotic colorectal surgery program at University College London Hospitals and serves as the Clinical Director of General Surgery at King Edward VII's Hospital in Marylebone.

Mr von Roon believes in tailoring his approach to the specific needs of each individual patient, and he is committed to using the latest surgical techniques to minimize tissue trauma and pain. In addition to his clinical work, Mr von Roon has conducted extensive research in the field of colorectal surgery. He received a research fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008 and was awarded a PhD by Imperial College London in 2012. His research has focused on outcomes of ileoanal pouch surgery for familial adenomatous polyposis and metabonomic profiling of pouchitis in ulcerative colitis.
