Miss Sara Matthews is a consultant gynaecologist with extensive training and experience in fertility medicine. She completed her medical degree at Queens University, Belfast, and became a full member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1996. She qualified as a Consultant Gynaecologist and RCOG Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in 2004. Miss Matthews has one of the broadest experiences in the field of fertility medicine, having worked in several prestigious fertility units in the UK. She was the Medical Director of the Homerton Foundation University Assisted Conception Unit until 2008 and is currently the HFEA Nominal licensee for Andrology Solutions fertility centre. Miss Matthews is also trained in psychiatric medicine and genito-urinary medicine and is certified as an advanced laparoscopic surgeon (RCOG MASII). She is involved in training and examining junior gynaecologists and new subspecialist consultants in fertility. Her areas of expertise include minimal access surgery, reproductive medicine, fertility preservation, fertility, menopause, recurrent miscarriage, early pregnancy problems, and periods.
