Dr Lucinda Green has been a Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist for 20 years and is an expert in providing care and treatment for women with a wide range of mental health problems who are planning a pregnancy, pregnant or postnatal. Dr Green sees private patients at The Portland Hospital.

Dr Green was Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist at St Thomas' Hospital (South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust) from 2002 - 2016 and then moved to West London NHS Trust where she was Perinatal Clinical Lead until 2018. 

Dr Green is passionately committed to ensuring that women have high quality mental health care during pregnancy and after birth. She is a recognised leader in perinatal mental health service development. For the Pan London Perinatal Mental Health Network she has chaired both the South London and North West London Clinical Networks and co-authored the London Perinatal Mental Health Care Pathways. She was a member of the British Association for Psychopharmacology’s consensus guidelines development group for the use of psychotropic medication preconception, in pregnancy and postpartum.

She has many years’ experience of training professionals to help them to improve the care they provide for women with mental health problems in pregnancy and the postnatal period. This includes midwives, health visitors, obstetricians, GPs and mental health professionals. She is Joint Clinical Lead for the Perinatal Masterclass Programme at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She is also a Visiting Lecturer in Perinatal Mental Health at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Green works collaboratively with women to help them make informed choices about their care and treatment. She is valued for her individualised approach and compassionate care.
