Dr. Gerry Coghlan is a Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in general and interventional cardiology, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and arrhythmias. He studied medicine at University College Dublin and specialized in cardiology at the National Cardiac Centre, Dublin, Harefield, and The Royal Free. Appointed as a consultant cardiologist in 1997, Dr. Coghlan is a founding member of the National Pulmonary Hypertension Physicians Association and developed the Royal Free National Pulmonary Hypertension Service. He has a particular interest in connective tissue disease-associated pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Coghlan has published over 100 papers and is involved in multinational studies. His research interests include pulmonary hypertension, cardiac imaging, and ischaemic heart disease. He offers treatments such as right heart catheterisation, coronary angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, cardioversion, and management of pulmonary hypertension.
