Dr George Webster is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who works at University College London (UCLH) and Royal Free London Hospitals. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of liver, biliary, pancreatic, and general gastroenterological conditions. Dr Webster has extensive training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy, having undergone specialist training at various renowned institutions such as the Royal Free, Barts and The London, and UCLH in London, as well as in Sydney.
Dr Webster is particularly known for his expertise in advanced endoscopy, which has earned him an international reputation in the field. He has held several prestigious positions in gastroenterology, including the chair of endoscopy and vice-president (endoscopy) for the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) from 2017 to 2019. He is also a member of the Council of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE).
Apart from his clinical work, Dr Webster is actively involved in teaching both nationally and internationally. He has directed various events, including the annual London Live Endoscopy, the BSG Endoscopy Live 2017 and 2019, and the UK IgG4-related disease symposium 2019. Additionally, he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, including in the Oxford Textbook of Medicine.
